FAQ'S

Who is the Boardwalk programme for?
Boardwalk is designed for rising female leaders in hospitality who are on the path to their first board-level role, typically within the next 1–3 years.

What kind of roles do applicants typically have?
Most mentees are in senior operational or leadership roles within hospitality businesses and are looking to take the next step into strategic or board-level positions within 3 years.

What is the time commitment?
Year 1 is from June 2026 to end May 2027 and includes 10 one-to-one mentoring sessions (typically monthly), 12 expert-led tutorials and 4 networking events. We recommend allowing a few hours per month to fully benefit from the experience.

Do I need my line manager’s support?
Yes. All applicants are required to have support from their line manager, which is confirmed on your application form.

Are the mentoring sessions in person or virtual?
Mentoring sessions are typically arranged directly between you and your mentor and can be held virtually or in person, depending on availability and location.

Where do the networking events take place?
Networking events are held in person, typically in central locations within the UK. Further details will be shared with successful applicants.

Can I apply if I don’t meet every requirement?
If you feel you’re close to the criteria and would benefit from the programme, we still encourage you to apply. We consider each application on its own merits.

I’m a founder / entrepreneur / supplier — can I apply?
At the moment, the programme is focused on individuals working within operator businesses in hospitality. We hope to expand eligibility in future cohorts.

How competitive is the application process?
Places on the programme are limited, and we receive a high number of applications each year. We recommend taking time to complete your application thoughtfully.

When will I hear if I’ve been successful?
You’ll be notified of the outcome of your application by Tuesday 9th June 2026.

When does the programme start?
The 2026/27 cohort begins in June 2026.

Is there a cost to participate?
The 1 year Boardwalk programme is £1800 (ex VAT).

What will I gain from the programme?
You’ll gain practical insight into how boards operate, increased confidence in your leadership, and access to a network of senior industry leaders who can support your progression to board level.
